Clay Rider: Clay Bar Lubricant

Our February release is Clay Rider, our new easy to use, specialist clay lube.

Clay Rider has been specially formulated to improve your detailing experience.

All contamination removal bars (clay bars) require a good quality lubricant to enable the clay bar to glide over a surface and pick up bonded contaminants. A high quality clay lubricant such as Clay Rider not only assists in providing this essential lubrication but also reduces the risk of clay marring dramatically.

Not all paint finishes are equal, with softer finishes being more prone to marring when using a clay bar. The use of Clay Rider during the decontamination stage of detailing will reduce the risk of clay marring on softer paint finishes and completely eliminates them on harder paint finishes.

Clay Rider has been designed to be extremely easy to use, it wipes off easily and works in conjunction with all grades of clay bar.

How to use:

Stage 1: Wash and dry your vehicle ensuring that you have carried out a full decontamination wash.

Stage 2: Remove your clay bar from its packaging, break of a manageable piece of clay and work it in your hands into a disk shape.

Stage 3: Apply Clay Rider liberally over the surface you are about to clay. We suggest working in areas no bigger than 1ft x 1ft on larger panels (work smaller areas a panel at a time).

Stage 4: Clay the pre lubricated surface and move the clay from side to side in straight lines, you do not need to apply too much pressure as the clay bar will do the work. Work slowly and keep an eye out for anything that could cause damage whilst claying. You should feel the panel become easier to clay and the surface become smoother. Apply more lubrication when needed so the panel doesn’t become dry.

Stage 5: Once you have clay barred an area, fold the clay in half, contaminated sides inwards to revel the clean clay before moving on to the next area.

Repeat stages 3,4 and 5 until contamination has been removed from all surfaces.
