Contamination Removal Bars

Contamination Removal Bars aka Clay Bars are designed to remove this bonded contamination from painted surfaces – you’d be surprised how much bonded contamination is caught in the paint surface of a vehicle even when it may appear to be completely clean.

You’d be surprised how much bonded contamination is caught in the paint surface of a vehicle even when it may appear to be completely clean. The most common sources of bonded contamination are things such as tree sap, iron fallout from brake dust, tar, rubber and pollen.

Contamination Removal Bars aka Clay Bars are designed to remove this bonded contamination from painted surfaces. You’ll find different methods of detecting the presence of bonded contamination on painted surfaces by carrying out a quick search of the internet. You may detect their presence by merely running your hand over the vehicles painted surface after washing and feeling a slightly gritty texture. After the correct use of a Contamination Removal Bar the previously gritty feeling from running your hand over the vehicles painted surfaces will now become smooth.

Once the bonded contamination has been removed you have now prepared the painted surfaces for any polishing you intend to carry out and the application of the vital protection layers of wax.

Our Contamination Removal Bars don’t require much effort and they glide easily over painted surfaces with the use of a clay lube such as Clay Rider, as they gently lift contamination. A lot of people are shocked at how much dirt and grime they collect, even from seemingly clean surfaces. When your Contamination Removal Bar starts to look grimy you can just knead it a little and roll the centre out to get a new surface to work with. 100g doesn’t look like much but it goes a very long way.

We have 3 grades of Contamination Removal Bars as part of our range as follows:

Our Mild Contamination Removal Bar (orange) is the softest within our range which makes it ideal for frequent use on even soft and delicate painted surfaces. (Clay lube required.)

Our Medium Contamination Removal Bar (yellow) is a slightly firmer bar. This makes it more suitable for slightly more challenging or un-loved cars that perhaps don’t get detailed very often. It is still adequate for frequent use. This bar may require a little warming up in your hands during colder months before it’s ready to be used. These work best for enhancement. (Clay lube required.)

Our Heavy Contamination Removal Bar (blue) is our firmest making it up to a bit more of a challenge. This bar is best to be used by an experienced hand; it is our most effective bar and was designed for full detailing work. Ideally, you should use this bar with a good clay lube such as Citrus Bling to avoid any chance of marring on soft or delicate surfaces. This bar works best for full details. (Clay lube required.)
